Guide to interpreting messages and icons in MT5 accounts

In this guide, we will explain the main elements that appear in MetaTrader 5 (MT5) investor accounts and their meaning, to help clients correctly interpret the information.

1. "Overview" Section

This section provides general information about the investor's account:

  • Account: Account number assigned to the client.
  • Name: Registered name of the account holder.
  • Type: Account type (e.g. real or demo).
  • Leverage: Leverage set for the account.

2. Balance

  • Balance: This is the total balance of the account. This number reflects the amount that the client has, both in capital + accumulated returns credited monthly.

3. Equity

Equity: Displays the current account balance including monthly returns, non-withdrawable temporary bonus and client's initial capital. It is calculated as follows: Equity = Balance + Earnings + Credit.

4. Credit

It shows the amount provided as credit to the account (for example, bonuses or temporary funds) and this works as an indicator of the client's initial capital + contributions made if applicable.

5. Free Margin

It is the available margin left in the account. In our case in Algo Global the amount reflected in this section will be equal to the amount reflected in the Equity It is calculated as follows: Free margin = Equity.

6. Transaction history

Within the MT5 investment account you will be able to view the history of transactions made by filtering by specific date, in which you will be able to see in detail the dates on which the credit was made or the transaction was made, the detailed comment of what that credit corresponds to, whether it is an investment deposit, a return deposit or a non-withdrawable temporary bonus.
